We live in a time where “therapy speak” is everywhere. Phrases like “this is a safe space” and “doing the work” are often overused and misunderstood. In reality, a space is not safe just because someone says it is. Likewise, the "work" of self reflection can be complex and looks different for every individual. In my work with clients, I aim to build trusting and meaningful relationships that are rooted in care, consistency, and respect. From there, I can help you understand and regulate your emotions, build resilience and self confidence, and improve long-standing behavioural and relational patterns. I am here to encourage curiosity, incite personal exploration, and challenge you when needed.
I work with adults at all stages of life who are navigating the complexities of being human—this might include, but is not limited to, feeling disconnected, unsure of yourself, angry, misunderstood, worn down, anxious, stressed, or depressed. Many of my clients are working through relationship struggles, identity questions, grief, shame, chronic illness (both visible and invisible), or major life transitions like parenthood, caregiving, death & dying, retirement, or exploring gender, sexuality, and career changes. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent folks (Autism, ADHD, BPD, etc.), queer and trans clients, and those exploring alternative relationship models, sex and sexlessness, or deeper questions around identity and meaning.
We might be a good fit if:
-
you’re looking for a therapist who’s warm, honest, open-minded, and speaks to you in plain language (I lean away from therapy jargon)
-
you want someone who’s in your corner, but will gently challenge you when needed
-
you’re not into formulaic therapy and want someone who tailors the work to your style and goals
-
you want a therapist who shows their humanity and shares parts of themselves when and if you are interested
-
you’re looking for a collaborative process where we explore and figure things out together
My work is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which means I value how early childhood and other past experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others in the present. Psychodynamic work is also rooted in a belief that we are dynamic beings and that we all have the capacity to change through self reflection. I also draw from relational and holistic therapies, including humanistic, narrative, attachment-based, emotion-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-focused approaches. I operate from a social justice, feminist, intersectional, and anti-racist framework that considers how societal systems can privilege and/or marginalize particular bodies. I see lived experience as fundamental to informing who you are and how you move through the world.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a member of the Canadian Association for Psychodynamic Therapy. I am in the final days of completing a five-year graduate diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counselling College (OPCC) and I have a bachelor's degree with honours from York University.
I became a therapist as a result of my own experience with therapy, and I am still an eager participant in my own therapeutic journey. I engage in ongoing clinical supervision and peer consultation because I believe therapy is strongest when informed by diverse perspectives. Learning from other therapists with different frameworks and lived experiences helps me show up with greater insight, humility, and care for the people I work with. I am also the Director of Operations for Work in Progress which means I keep things running smoothly for everyone on our wonderful team.
