(She/her), MA Candidate
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Therapist in Training
Feeling validated and supported is integral to growth and navigating through life’s many challenges. I aim to meet you where you are in your journey and walk alongside you. Through a compassionate, non-judgemental, and empowering approach I acknowledge your lived experiences, values, and strengths. I place emphasis on collaboration within the therapeutic relationship that guides your self-exploration, highlights your internal resources, as well as fosters your capacity to develop new ways of coping. I draw interventions from various therapeutic modalities, including humanistic, narrative, experiential and solution-focused techniques. My approach is grounded in anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed frameworks that centers you as the expert of your own experiences and prioritizes acceptance and safety.
My professional experience has been rooted in advocacy, wrap-around approaches, and supporting client healing and resiliency. My approach to counselling children and youth garners their strengths and creative self-reflection through developmentally appropriate interventions. I have also provided counselling and advocacy support to newcomer families focused on acculturation and mitigating systemic barriers impacting well-being. I draw on my personal lived experience and my social location as an Iranian woman that has experienced the refugee and acculturation process.
I firmly believe in fostering a strength-based, empowerment-centered, and identity-affirming change process for clients that actualizes self-reflection, liberation, and resilience. Wherever you are in your journey, I would be honoured to walk alongside you. I welcome you to reach out and see if we may be a good fit in working together.
