Therapist in Training
Searching for a therapist can be a lot. You might already be feeling stretched thin, and now you have to scroll through bio after bio, hoping someone feels like the “right fit” based on just a picture and some text. Take a deep breath. Just landing on this page and considering support is a brave and beautiful step forward.
I’m currently completing a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. In my practice, I walk alongside adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or the heavy weight of emotional overwhelm. Perhaps you feel trapped in the same frustrating loops, distant from yourself or others, or burned out from trying to hold everything together by yourself. It is so common to crave change without having a map for how to get there. That is perfectly okay – we can begin where you are now.
To me, therapy is a shared journey of learning. My role is to walk alongside you, offering a steady, open, and curious presence, as we explore the emotions and patterns impacting your days. Rather than acting as the expert on your life, I honour your inherent self knowledge and power, and I can help you discover this for yourself. Together, we can uncover valuable insights, identify what you truly value, and nurture new ways of connecting with yourself and the people around you.
You can expect a warm, holistic, and collaborative space when we work together. Drawing from person-centred care, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I shape my approach around what you need most. Depending on where you are at, we might gently untangle the emotions driving old patterns, find ways to strengthen your relationships, practice new tools for managing overwhelming feelings, or simply sit together with the experiences you haven’t been able to share with anyone else.
It’s hard to look at who we are without looking at the culture, relationships, and environments that surround us. Growing up between different cultures as an East Asian immigrant woman, I know what it means to move across different worlds, and I bring that understanding into the therapy room. I am dedicated to offering care that honours all of your parts, and I provide a space that is culturally responsive, identity-affirming, non-judgmental, and responsive to your pace
Please know that you do not need to arrive at therapy with the perfect words, a clear goal, or your life story neatly organized. Come exactly as you are, and we will figure the rest out together. My hope is to provide a space where you feel genuinely heard, deeply supported, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward growth, connection, and understanding yourself better.
